About the speakers
Cheryl Warren has over three decades of experience within the early years sector and is now a consultant and award- winning trainer, working with nurseries and schools across the UK. Cheryl’s passion and specialism for understanding and acceptance for neurodiversity within early years is impactful and comes from the heart, as a professional and also as parent of two neurodivergent children herself. She is an advocate for true inclusive practice, enabling ALL children to be heard, to be given the tools and connections to thrive and to be celebrated and accepted for their uniqueness.Cheryl is a regular speaker at national conferences, alongside writing a book on this subject matter and is soon to be travelling abroad as she begins to share her messages internationally. Cheryl’s debut book ‘Neurodiversity in the Early Years: Practical and Proven Strategies to Enable Neurodivergent Children to Thrive’ is an essential read for early years professionals. Laura Henry-Allain MBE is an award-winning international storyteller, educationalist producer and consultant.Â
She is the creator of the well-loved, award-winning, JoJo and Gran Gran global series, developed and produced by CBeebies, and is the series producer. Laura has a new children’s animation that is currently in development. Â
Laura has worked with several global brands, including Paramount, Mattel, Moonbug, Hasbro, John Lewis, Comic Relief and Bafta. Â
Her bestselling children’s books include My Skin, Your Skin and My Family, Your Family, which explore identity, and Maya and Marley, which centres on an adventure playground.Â
Laura is a board member of the Children’s Media Foundation and vice president of The British Association of Early Childhood Education. She is also a patron of the Grenada Community Library, mentor to the Grenfell Memorial Quilt, an expert commissioner on the Raising the Nation Play Commission national inquiry into play and the creator and presenter of the podcast My Words, My Book.Â
Lucy Lewin is a dedicated champion for early years education, serves as the founder of The Profitable Nursery Academy and Little Angels Nursery.  With her profound experience in the sector, she has crafted her mission around empowering early years settings to embrace a strengths-based leadership approach. Â
Lucy started her early years journey s a childminder and is now a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach who firmly believes in harnessing individual strengths to cultivate highly engaged and motivated teams. This approach, she believes, is instrumental in delivering high-quality education and care to children and families.Â

This year, Childminding Week will take place from 10 to 16 May 2025.
The theme for 2025 is ‘Unsung Childcare Heroes’
Building on the success of last year’s childminding week, we want to use #ChildmindingWeek25 to raise awareness of childminders, celebrate the incredible work they do, build a sense of community and involve more sector stakeholders.
