Why play matters

In this issue we investigate why play matters; the research and evidence showing the crucial role plays has for children’s learning and development along with the benefits of sensory play. We also consider the importance of ‘serve and return’ interactions through our everyday routines and play. As part of our mental health and wellbeing series, we look sleep and consider what can negatively impact on the quality of our sleep and the steps we can take to have the best possible nights sleep. PACEY President, Penny Tassoni talks about the magic of nursery rhymes, and the benefit they bring to children! We talked to Tracy Graham about her inspiring journey from engineering to early years.
