PACEY Cymru is here to support people who work with and look after children in Wales. PACEY Cymru supports those working in childcare and early years to provide high quality care and early learning for children and families.

We work with the Welsh Government, Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), Social Care Wales, Estyn, local authorities and other organisations and agencies to ensure families across Wales have access to affordable, quality childcare. We receive funding from the Welsh Government through both the Childcare, Play and Early Years division (through our Cwlwm consortium) and the Education directorate (for curriculum Development Officer funding).

PACEY Small Grants in Wales

PACEY Cymru is supported by funding from the Welsh Government. We’re one of five leading childcare and play organisations working together through the Welsh Government funded consortium, Cwlwm (Childcare Wales Learning and Working Mutually).

Cwlwm partner organisations are:

Funding for Cwlwm runs currently until March 2025 and ensures PACEY Cymru can support members in Wales, other childminders and partners, including local authorities, the Welsh Government and their statutory agencies.

Our Work in Wales

As well as supporting childcare professionals, our work in Wales includes:

Supporting and developing high quality Early Years, Childcare and Play Services.

Supporting the implementation of key policies and initiatives within the Early Years, Childcare and Playwork sector.

Developing and delivering training and services to partners, including local authorities through PACEY Connect Cymru a package of services which help local authorities support early years professionals in their area.

Representing the childcare and early years sector in Wales.

Being a source of information, expertise, knowledge and training to key partners across Wales. Read the Cwlwm newsletters

PACEY Cymru is keen to work in partnership with Local Authority Childcare Teams, Family Information Services, and staff for Job Centre Plus, Communities for Work, Colleges and other organisations to raise the awareness of childminding as a career and childcare choice.

PACEY Cymru would welcome the opportunity to deliver awareness raising sessions with staff, to attend events and careers fairs, or to help with queries from individuals who may be interested in taking the next steps to becoming a childminder.
