Cwlwm Welsh Promise / Addewid Cymraeg Cwlwm

PACEY Cymru as part of the Cwlwm consortia recognises the importance of developing the Welsh language and is proud of taking an active role in contributing to the Welsh Governments target of one million Welsh speakers by 2050.

We understand that starting out on a journey of working towards the Active Offer can be a daunting prospect, therefore, Cwlwm have developed a Welsh promise journey especially for childcare and play settings.

What is the Cwlwm Welsh Promise?

The promise comprises of three levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold, and it will depend on your Welsh language skills as to what you will be able to achieve.

  • The Bronze level is the first step to actively build foundations and implement the Welsh language into your setting, this is acheived through self-assessments and sharing supporting evidence with PACEY Cymru.
  • The Silver level will show that the Welsh language is seen and heard during daily routines in your setting and that more Welsh language opportunities are given to children in your care and their families. At this stage you will be working towards providing a bilingual service. Again, this will be carried out through self-assessments and sharing supporting evidence with PACEY Cymru.
  • The Gold level can be achieved by those who can evidence that the Welsh language is embraced and embedded into the day to day running of a setting, and can offer a fully bilingual or Welsh medium service. Achievement at this level will be confirmed by the Welsh Language Commissioners Office using evidence from self-assessments, PACEY Cymru and CIW inspection outcomes and observations.

A certificate will be awarded on completion of each level.

How can I apply for, or learn more about, the Welsh Promise?

Mae PACEY Cymru fel rhan o gonsortia Cwlwm yn cydnabod pwysigrwydd datblygu’r Gymraeg ac yn falch o gymryd rhan weithredol wrth gyfrannu at darged Llywodraeth Cymru o filiwn o siaradwyr Cymraeg erbyn 2050.

Deallwn fod cychwyn ar daith o weithio tuag at y Cynnig Rhagweithiol yn gallu bod yn arswydus, felly, mae Cwlwm wedi datblygu taith addewid Cymru yn arbennig ar gyfer lleoliadau gofal plant a chwarae.

Beth yw Addewid Cymraeg Cwlwm?

Mae’r addewid yn cynnwys tair lefel, Efydd, Arian ac Aur, a bydd yn dibynnu ar eich sgiliau Cymraeg o ran yr hyn y byddwch yn gallu ei gyflawni.

  • Y lefel Efydd yw’r cam cyntaf i fynd ati i adeiladu sylfeini a rhoi’r defnydd o’r Gymraeg ar waith yn eich lleoliad, cyflawnir hyn trwy hunanasesiadau a rhannu tystiolaeth ategol gyda PACEY Cymru.
  • Bydd y lefel Arian yn dangos bod y Gymraeg i’w gweld a’i chlywed yn ystod arferion dyddiol eich lleoliad a bod mwy o gyfleoedd Cymraeg ar gael i’r plant yn eich gofal a’u teuluoedd. Ar y cam hwn byddwch yn gweithio tuag at ddarparu gwasanaeth dwyieithog. Unwaith eto, bydd hyn yn cael ei gyflawni drwy hunanasesiadau a rhannu tystiolaeth ategol gyda PACEY Cymru.
  • Bydd y lefel Aur yn cael ei gyflawni gan y rhai sy’n gallu dangos bod y Gymraeg yn cael ei chofleidio a’i gwreiddio yn y gwaith o redeg lleoliad o ddydd i ddydd, ac sy’n gallu cynnig gwasanaeth cwbl ddwyieithog neu gyfrwng Cymraeg. Bydd cyflawniad ar y lefel hon yn cael ei gadarnhau gan Swyddfa Comisiynydd y Gymraeg gan ddefnyddio tystiolaeth o hunanasesiadau, canlyniadau ac arsylwadau arolygiadau PACEY Cymru ac AGC.

Rhoddir tystysgrif ar ôl cwblhau pob lefel.
